Extropy: Journal of Transhumanist Solutions covers the full range of advanced, emerging, and future technologies, and their impact and implications for both the present and the future. For further information on topics, terms, and concepts which might be unfamiliar, the Definitions page provides links to relevant areas of the Extropy Institute website. HistoryExtropy: Vaccine For Future Shock, started by Max More and Prof. Tom Bell (T.0. Morrow), debuted in August 1988 as a printed magazine, with only fifty copies of the first issue. The title became Extropy: Journal of Transhumanist Thought, and a total of seventeen issues were published. Then, in November 1997, it moved to the Web as Extropy Online, where it continued to publish articles for three years. After a year of dormancy, it returned to the Web in February 2002 as its current form, Extropy: Journal of Transhumanist Solutions. Many articles from Extropy's prior existences are available online, in the Previous Content section. More back-issue material, nearly all of which has never been available online before, will continue to be added. PraiseIf you're tired of shallow, trendy, or uncritical thinking on the technological frontier, Extropy will satisfy, startle, and stimulate you. "In general I would call it the best periodical
I have ever seen in my life..." "I love it. Extropy excites the hell out of my
mind." "I just wanted to let you know that Extropy
keeps getting better and better! (as, of course, it must in order to be
so named). What a uniformly excellent, eclectic, thoughtful,
well-written selection of articles. By far the most thought-provoking,
ground-breaking stuff in any magazine I read."
